STUFFFFFFF

(walter) So we’re here in buffalo and it’s the coldest I’ve been in months. If I mistype it’s probably because my frengers r cld ass hll. The last week has been really fun. It’s the last week where you feel like everyone is finally getting to know each other really well and it’s just starting to come together. I have been really pumped about everything going on.. even the cold. The cold gives me a reason to wear a jacket and to drink coffee and tea without sweating. So I’ve been listening to 2 things these days. 1) tons and tons of music 2) tons and tons of podcasts. I got so much music from other people on the tour that I’ve been having a field day just enjoying new and exceiting music. Some of my favorites have been from the “Rolling Stone Magazine Top 500 Songs of All Time.” It’s a really cool list… certainly not infallible but I enjoy it. For instance, I don’t agree with the Baha Men being on there or Chumbawumba, but some stuff is definitely good. Podcasts are a really good time; I’ve been listening to tons of This American Life. Ira Glass is the man. I’ve also been excited in Radio Lab, which is very interesting. I listened to one about quantum mechanics and it piqued my interest in that field. I really want to learn more about string theory and other such things. Maybe someday.

On the complete flipside, last night I watched Camp Jesus. It was one of the scariest movies I had ever seen. These extremist evangelicals were brainwashing little kids to negate science and praise cardboard cutouts of George W. Bush. Everytime the screen went black and went to a new scene I was sure nothing could top the last thing I saw and then I would hear something like ‘okay so did you get to the part where it says that global warming isn’t real and we should rape the earth of all it’s resources because jesus is coming so it doesn’t matter’ (taken a bit out of context, but you get the gist). Or when they were denying the fact that they were brainwashing an entire generation to be an army for the Republican Party. The whole thing was just insane and completely on the polar opposite end of the spectrum of what Brian Greene was talking about in what I listened to the other night with parallel universes and quantum mechanics, etc. Brian Greene’s theory says that all thoughts and memories are just chemical reactions and there is no free will… we are just here as bags of particles. I don’t necessarily agree with either theory but I’d tend to lean toward Brian Greene’s idea… and even if it isn’t true it’s certainly very interesting, I would urge everyone to check it out.

Anyway, enough talk about that science vs. religion stuff. Today we are headed to Foxborough, MA. We had to cancel the show because Shane is real sick because of the crazy amount of temperature change we went through in the last 2 days… from like 75 degrees to like 25 or 30 and seeing snow. So it’s understandable, just sucks! We are still heading to the show but just no playing… which is the best part of the show :(. Well, I am off! I must be making a video for the 5th and final Alloy.com video blog, I’ll try my best to make it a good one!

PHOTOBLOG COMING SOON!
