tour journal

so today we the longest and least relaxing off day of our lives! it was awesome to be in the van for 13 straight hours!! i started off driving at 11 am and we drove to a nice food destination... or so we thought. we got to a chinese restaurant. george and i ordered tofu with vegetables.... and it came out and it was tofu AND beef AND gravy and vegetables... so we just left. then we went to a burrito place and the guy was a jerk and wasn't helpful at all and over charged us and george had to go back several times to get his refitted with no beef. it was a pretty intense time. everyone was riled up about food mishaps.

then we started driving. i was cruising along nicely on the highway when suddenly i was in a fight for my life. wrangling the van like a bull to the side of the road. i had no idea what was going on, i thought our trailer fell off, or we died, or someone hit us or something crazy... turns out it was just a simple flat tire. however, since we have a rental trailer with no brakes and it is huge, it went over terribly. thank god there was no one in the right lane or we would have hurt ourselves and several other people, but we were lucky.



in other news, we are done warped tour. i have mixed feelings about whether or not that's a good thing. on one hand i'm excited to be on a regular tour and be able to sleep in a hotel every night and get showers everyday. on the other hand, i miss the friends that i made and never being bored, and getting a nice tan hah.

so in general, it's just a transition, nothing we can't handle. but this tour definitely rules so far, it sucks it's going to be so short, this would be a fun tour to do all summer, but it's understandable why we aren't...

here was a picture from our last day on warped tour, where we spotted that alex and this guy were wearing similar anti war shirts.... i think alex's is better.


another thing... we are now back in the van and we have no ipod player. we've been making lots of mix cds, but if you are coming to a show anytime soon.. feel free to bring a nice mix cd for us to listen to, we'd love to hear what you like (or think that we'd like !)

anyway, time to finish my laundry... another long day tomorrow!
