Hey everyone,
Brendan here just to let you all know that the school's for fools tour is well under way and it is awesome! We finally got to meet metro station and hang out with we the kings more and see our friends Just Surrender again, so it's been great.
Metro station are really nice guys, i was very excited to see them play and they lived up to every expectation. Also, we the kings was the same way, I had been listening to their songs on myspace and really dug it and finally got to see them live and i was pumped, those guys ruled. Just Surrender's new cd is awesome and their new shit is awesome.... the really stepped it up this time around and it shows in their live show and songs and everywhere.
the first night was a lot of fun. just like every first day of every tour it was like first day of camp or school or something. We had to meet everyone and get a feel for how everyone functions. Once that whole process is done, we can get down to business… talking about gear and our hometowns, exchange tour stories… see who has the biggest trailer (this tour it is we the kings… it’s so big we told them they should bring a car with them on tour). The kids in Kingston were really cool, it seemed like forever since we had played a show in Wilkes Barre (aside from warped tour) and it was good to be back. Even on a Wednesday night when school was just starting, there were about 150 kids there and they all were having a fun time, just like myself.
That night we went back to Shane’s house to sleep and the Hendersons left us like 5000032402340809 food items on the counter with a note for us to eat it all. We did indeed eat it all. We are a bunch of fatsos… but it’s okay because at 9 am the next morning Shane, Jd and George were out by the van lifting weights and working out… like real men should! YEAH! I mean… that stuff isn’t for me, but hey whatever floats your boat.
So the next day was the Long Island show… we left at about 11:30 and were expecting to get there at about 2 pm, very early… but our GPS system took us through New York City and that was a terrible idea. We were stuck on the same road for about 45 minutes just trying to get through… then the police stopped us and searched our trailer and we ended up being late. It was quite a catastrophe. Anyway we got there and the sound guy was out of his mind. He was mad about everything… made us sound check all weird and Nick (our tour manager) kept talking down to him, so that made me laugh. The show was a lot of fun. lots of our friends from Nassau warped tour and NYC and even Philadelphia came out to the show… it’s always good to see old friends.
Anywho… enough about the tour for now… we’ll make a new update soon. We have a show tonight in Bethesda Maryland… hopefully we’ll see you all Maryland – ers there!
