analogy!

so i was riding on the train today and i looked out to see a half finished apartment building and it kind of reminded me of our half finished album as of now. like the blueprints are the demos and our minds with the idea of the final product that we want to create. the drums are like the foundation of the building and needs to be solid and yet unique to fit the design of the rest of the building. the bass and rythm guitars are like the cement walls that you never really think about, but the building would be nothing without. the leads and pianos and stuff are like windows and the unique outside design, because it doesn't need it nesscesarily, but it's what it makes it different. the vocals are like the paint and furniture and decorations, the things that you see and the things that really matter when it comes down to it.

i dunno i guess this is a silly analogy, but i just thought of it and thought i'd put it up

i think i may have lost all of george's footage from the studio, so i'm pretty upset i might not be able to do his update... but we'll see how it goes... hopefully i can find it somewhere.

guitars are going well, rythms are all done and i'm very excited to be starting on leads. rythms are really no fun as far as i'm concerned. it's just playing the things i've already written but leads are where it's fun because we can sit around together and think of all our different ideas and see what would be best. sometimes leads can change an entire feel of a song that you wouldn't normally expect to hear... so i'm excited for that.

vocals also start in a few days but at a different studio, that will be going on while we're recording leads and other things. i'm very excited and hopefully everyone else will be too when they hear the record.

it's time for me to record some acoustic guitar though, so i will be back!
