Hollywood last night was a weird show. We didn’t really have a good time getting kids into it, but LA and New York are always strange. But we did get to see some sweet things. Down the street was the premier for Disturbia and everyone saw the guy from Even Stevens and the cheetah girls (minus raven) and like 3lw, but I missed it all, so I was upset about it. Butttt I DID see the Yardbirds play, even though Jimmy Paige, who was supposed to make a guest appearance, didn’t show up.
Today is san Francisco. We were all excited about seeing Alcatraz and golden gate bridge and stuff. But we had no idea that there would be shoot outs and hostage situations.
We drove all night and got to our hotel at like 10 in the morning and checked in and all. The hotel was in a pretty nice area, kind of a nice hotel as well. When we woke up and tried to go outside, there were cops outside with guns, using our van and trailer as a shield. The one cop with a rifle was screaming at us to get back into the hotel room. George took the job of watching through the peephole and was watching the cops and telling us what was going on. Apparently some dudes next door to us were doing some illegal things and they had to go in and try and get them out. It was pretty nuts. We finally just called the front desk and got our money back and got the heck out of there.
So I wrote this first part up top before the show in San Francisco. After the show is when the insanity began.
We left San Francisco and went to have our last tour hang out with All Time Low at In N Out Burger. It was a delicious time and I am very sad to see them go. Before we left, Jack and Max were talking about if they liked California and why. Jack said he liked it but Max said that he didn’t because if something were to happen we’d be so far way from home to do any thing about it. I was sitting in the driver’s seat just thinking ‘what could possibly happen after all we’ve been through on this tour?’ I was about to find out.
I drove about an hour when the van just shut off in the middle of the highway. It felt like the van was trying to into reverse and was trying to stop in the middle of the highway. I was going 60 miles an hour and the steering was gone and I had to just coast to the side of the highway. We sat there trying to turn the van back on for about an hour but it was just making insane noises and we weren’t about to drive it anywhere.
I called triple A and just talked to this stupid lady for about an hour. I told her exactly how we went and where the van was,. I told her got off at 580 in the city and then it turned back into 80 and that’s where we were. It took about 30 minutes on the phone with her to convince her that’s where we were, she insisted that 80 didn’t go there, but then she finally believe me. Once she believed me, she told me she couldn’t tow our trailer or all the people, and we had to find another company to get the trailer and a cab to drive the people. So she sent out a tow truck just for the van. 45 minutes later, they show up and PASS us. They called us after they passed us and said, “oh we didn’t realize you had a trailer, we’re going to get our flatbed so we can tow both.” By the time they got back everyone had left for the hotel in the cab except for me and Jd. Neither of us had keys to take the trailer off. We had to call Max to get a cab back to bring us the keys. The cab drive went to pick him up at the wrong hotel, and Max didn’t get to us for like an hour after…. The tow truck waited as long as he could, but he had another call and had to leave… meaning we had to call triple A back and start the whole process over again. At this point they told us AGAIN that they wouldn’t tow the trailer and we pretty much repeated everything until about 7 am when they finally towed everything. Max and Jd got the trailer to the hotel and took the van to Pep Boys and got it fixed.
Right now we are en route to Orangevale and hopefully we will make the show. We’re only an hour away and the van seems to be running fine now… it was just a belt that snapped and the van couldn’t run properly because of it. Just our luck. We spent so much money yesterday on expensive hotels, towing, van fixing, and 300 dollars worth of cab rides back and forth. It was just an overall insane night; I’m running on like 3 hours of sleep.
Sorry for no video update, but as you can seem everything is pretty insane. Hopefully nothing more will happen, although I hear it’s snowing from Detroit all the way to New York, and I’m sure it is in Utah and Colorado and that area. I am really waiting to see if that will play a role in the next couple weeks.
Someone really doesn’t want us to finish this tour, but hopefully we will prove them wrong ha.
Brendan.

Wow, that was a pretty intense night. Well, I'm glad everyone is ok. I wanna say things could have gone worse, but things really couldn't. Atleast no freaky person stopped and like killed you all, so maybe that's good..lol.
I hope your van gets you through all the snow for the following shows. And yes, it's me that doesn't want you to finish this tour, because I think it's time for you guys to come back to Montreal. I really do. It's time. Pronto. Thanks:)
