almost home

Well its almost over, but its taking forever. Tour is great and fun and all, and especially this tour, so its hard to explain… but with the recording coming up and me being real nervous for it, this last bit of the tour feels like an eternity.

This is how it feels: It’s like you’re listening to Rubber Soul by the Beatles and it’s a great album and this song is great that you’re listening to (drive my car) but the end is just like the chorus over and over and you’re like… well the chorus is cool, but I didn’t wanna hear it 15 times and then faded out, all I wanted to hear is Norwegian Wood. And with this new technology of ipods and itunes you can see the seconds counting down till its over and you’re just like… ok end the damn song already, it was good, but I think you might be ruining it.

THAT’S what it’s like.

Orrrrr it’s like school when you’re a senior in high school and there’s all this fun stuff going on right before finals, and you’re like, man high school rules, but you have that feeling of…. Man I still have to pass those finals before I get out of here so I can go to college and graduate high school. So all that fun stuff like class trips, and what not, become, all of a sudden, not THAT fun because you’re just thinking about those damn finals!

Ah you have no idea what I’m talking about, but this all is making sense at 430 in the morning as we’re driving through Wyoming and I’m all hocked up on monster energy drinks, waiting for my turn to drive. The point is… I’m just about ready to be done tour and get this album over with. I’ve been driving myself crazy everyday writing songs.. I’ve done like 10 in the last week, its insane. I don’t even think we’ll use any of them, but I guess it’s better than not having anything… I feel like I’ve been the most productive I have so far through this whole writing process… but the waiting is just getting insane. So that’s the point… not very short OR sweet…. But that’s it.
