hey everrrrryone.
sorry it's been a while but we've been nomads for the last week or so. this is the first chance at internet i have had. we drove all the way up to seattle and now we're in idaho. it's been a crazy week. lots of long drives, lots of not being tired.
on monday we had a pretty good day off. we just stayed at kate's house and did absolutely nothing. that's my favorite kind of day off, the ones where nothing gets done and we just sort of waste our time. we went to the rice bowl place and ate some food. we went to starbucks... alot. we also played nintendo alot. we pretty much played wheel of fortune for like 6 hours straight. i only won a few time because i had terrible luck with the spins. i kept going bankrupt and missing turns. it's ok though because i still am better at jeopardy than anyone else in the van.
the next day was the knitting factory show and it was alot of fun. we got to see action action and my american heart, who we haven't seen in a long time. it's always good to see our friends on tour, it kind of breaks up the monotony. the show was kind of weird, but cities like LA and new york are always kind of strange. it feels like people aren't there for music. whatever, it went on and it we lived with it. george's bass amp broke and we had to take forever fixing that up. i felt good, but for some reason everyone on the tour seemed bummed that day... it's been weird.
after the show we went back to kate's and just hung out, the show on tuesday was like 10 minutes from her house. everyone was bummed yet again on tuesday about the chain reaction show. the cute is what we aim for show was down the street and it affected our show a pretty good amount. it was still alot of fun... but apparently it would have been alot better if it wasn't for the other show. whatever... it happens. after the show we had to make the 7 hour trek to orangevale california, for our next show. jd and shane did the driving for that night. we got to the area and drove to phil's house. we were doing a photoshoot, a video intenrview, an acoustic song and all this other stuff with him. we all were pretty tired so it was hard to do all of that, but it was fun anyway. the show was pretty funny. this place we played, called the boardwalk, was pretty cool. the sound guy was out of his mind. everyone had been warning me about him, but i didn't think it was gonna be that nutty. we drove up and he stopped me and asked me if i was a communist and i said no, and then he asked if i was a hippy and i said no and then he walked away. it was so strange. he was asking spitalfield to do all this ridiculous stuff during their soundcheck and telling dumb jokes. everyone ended up sounding really good, but he was just so insane. i had a good time at the show... the guys from punkrockvids were there again to film the show, and that was cool... punchline, christian and i went to a chinese resturaunt and had a delicious dinner. it was a fun day, overall.
next was the 9 hour drive to portland. i started off and drove about 5 hours. i was so bored and tired and it was not at all a fun drive. after i drove, george took over and scared the hell out of all of us for the next couple of hours. we arrived in portland and just sort of drove around for a while. we went to a supermarket and some stuff. then we went to a ymca, to go hang out with naked old men. it was good to go into the sauna and hot tub and get a shower. i felt good after we were done, but i was so tired, i wanted to sleep so bad... but we had to go to the show. we played a place called rock n' roll pizza. each band got 2 free pizzas. we ordered 2 vegan pizzas, and that's where the best times of our lives began!!!!! max flipped out because he wanted cheese. he's still mad today because we are 'inconsiderate assholes'. it was silly to make such a scene in front of everyone over cheese. max hates me, george and jd.
the 3 hour drive to seattle was nothing compared to the last few nights. we drove up to stay with the new atlantics. it was great to see them. we stayed at their apartment which is right near downtown. i'm so jealous of them. they get to just hang out and live in such a great city and record a record. i really hope we get to do something like for our next album, it'd be really cool. in the morning, christian and i went to find a starbucks... we only found 7 in one block, and that wasn't enough for us, so we turned around and went back and went to the show. the show was pretty cool, i had a good time. it was peachcake's last night, and they came up and danced with us on stage, which was sweet. sam yoder came to the show. he missed us play so he didn't come in, but i stood outside and talked with him for a while. i'm pretty jealous of sam as well. he's just playing music and having a good time in seattle and just doing what he wants to do. it was good to see sam, i don't think i'll see him during christmas time this year because he's doing to stay in lancaster while the rest of his family comes out to visit.
the show ended and we went to dinner with new atlantic. we went to a sweet japanese resturaunt and i got some good old fashioned tofu, some veggie roll and miso soup. it was a delicious meal and i'm glad we went. last night ended in another insane drive and another awesome argument about cheese. max was still mad about his cheeseless pizza that he was unable to consume because he's allergic to pizza sauce that is exposed to the air, it has to be covered by cheese or he will swallow his tongue. he decided that it was more important to be right than to stay alive. needless to say, we had several near death experiences. i tried to forget about it and just watch the arrested development dvds that steve gave me but it was pretty hard to pay attention with lots of dumb yelling going on. i eventually fell asleep and woke up in idaho at a best buy. after a few more stops we ended up at a hotel, and here i am. we're just waiting for our show tonight. and then a much needed day off tomorrow.
anyway, i'm going to eat some oatmeal, talk to you soon.

Wow, I would be beat if I had to drive that long. Max is soo cute, hopefully he doesn't stay mad at you guys for awhile. That sucks about the show and that it was affected by the ciwwaf show. I'm sure everybody at the show had a good time anyway. Well, It's almost christmas so you'll be having a couple of relaxing days in no time. Take Care!
XOXOXOXOX
I have officially given up..
I go through the same things with my friends. They want to fight over veggie tacos....until they realize my cooking is the shit. Ha. Max will come around. I love Seattle, two of my suitemates are from there ad they make it sound amazing. I want to live there for a little bit. Sorry that us New Yorkers "aren't there for the music"....stereotypes. BLEH! I forgive you, though, because you obviously don't know me...lol.
That's pretty awesome the PRV guys filmed your set. I cant wait to get it.
