So Florida has been really awesome. Tonight was the last night and it was probably the most fun show so far.
Orlando was pretty good, but I was starting to get sick and I couldn’t help but feel kind of weird during the show. It was definitely fun though. We played and the crowd was pretty fun. We even played tenth street, which we never play, but it was requested so we played it. After the show there was so much going on, it was insane, girls gone wild was next door, 80’s dance party at the club we played, and just chaos on the street. I wasn’t really down for all of that so I just went and got pizza with jon smith and steve and then we left for ft Lauderdale. We stayed at george’s family friend’s house again, just like last time we played in ft Lauderdale. It was nice, we got in really late though, and all their dogs started barking so I thought they would wake up and hate us, but it turned out that it was fine.
We woke up the next day and it was so loud. They were getting their roof redone and we woke up to banging and phones ringing and talking and yelling, it was just insanity. So on top of being sick, I couldn’t sleep very much. But it was a real nice day out and some people went to the beach or went out and just did whatever, but me tom and Christian stayed in and just hung out for a while… used the internet, ate some food. The usual stuff we do when we’re lounging. After a whole lot of chilling, we went to the show. The show was pretty good… this place has a gigantically tall stage, with steps in the middle going down, so its pretty awkward when you play, but I still had a good time no matter what.
That night I drove back up to Orlando so we could stay with Jackie. She goes to school down here and it was good to see her again. This was where I really got sick. Staying up all night driving and then having to wake up early because of the sun and people talking was just no good. We went to whole foods the next morning and I finally got to drink soymilk after it’s been so long, it was delicious. I also got an awesome salad, some banana chips and some much needed vitamins. I love whole foods, I wish I could eat there everyday.
Jacksonville was lame, I felt so sick. We played and I just wasn’t into it. Some girl told me that she didn’t like our music because we didn’t have good stage presence, which both confused and frustrated me… because how can you listen to stage presence?!@# Well either way, I was not having a good time, so after some erotic photo hunt and selling cds I went to sleep in the van. I took a Nyquil, which I’ve never had before in my life, and I was asleep pretty quick. Apparently it got pretty intense in there, but I wouldn’t know because I was sleeping, but I was told stories later. We woke up and went to panera bread and then just hung out in Gainesville for a very long time. I just walked around by myself for a while, played some guitar and then slept a bit. It was a relaxing day. Later, we went on a search for a hacky sack and we played an amazing couple games of elimi-hack.
The show was so sweet. The place was called the 1982 bar, and it was a tiny little place, but it was packed and hot in there, and it went on without a hitch. Everyone seemed to have a good time. All the bands played great. I was bummed that over it had to leave, because they are amazing dudes, but I’m sure we’ll catch up with them again real soon.
We played and for some reason I felt fine afterwards. My sore throat was gone, my headache was gone… it was some kind of Gainesville miracle. I felt fine for the rest of the night and I still do, minus a scratchy voice. I watched over it and punchline and spitalfield and then we had the best 80’s dance party ever. Punchline made a mix of 80’s songs and they played it and we danced while boys like girls were playing super Mario 3. As I was watching it all steve came over and said ‘man, we have such awesome jobs’. I know people have said it before, but for some reason this was the first time I really believed it. I mean come on… awesome show, awesome dance party, and awesome super Mario 3 that’s definitely the best job ever, no matter what anyone says.
Now we’re on our way to Max’s brother Melvin’s apartment in Tallahassee. We have a day off there and then the next day we play in Houston… for now, I have to sleep. Hopefully I don’t go back to being sick. What a great night
Good night.

I get the first comment...*sly smile*. I'm glad you're feeling better. Orlando made me sick too. You need some North weather, it's too unnatural to be that warm at this time of the year. See you Dec.29th!
80s dance party! haha awesome! me and my friends are having an 80s christmas party.
glad you're feeling better! stay safeee!

Glad the turn out was better than common grounds cuz Valcencia is an amazing band and some of the realest and coolest people ive ever met. Thanks so much for getting the guys together for the picture. I know u were prolly fed up and sorry for being a pain. Well thanks for everything and for being real with people. i'm glad you're having fun on the tour. i miss you guys, which is insane cos i just saw you!
and about the stage presence...that is one of the main components of what made me fall in love with you guys. before i had even listened to you guys, i saw you live, and that is what got me totally into it. i bought the album and "the rest is history."
i sincerely believe that since the first time i saw you guys in march, and seeing you a few weeks ago in jersey that your performance has gotten even better. it's tighter, it's harder, it's faster. it's amazing. don't let anyone let you believe otherwise.
