san antonio is very hot... we're finally here. it has to be about 100 degrees. the last 2 days have been longggg. we drove from charlotte to houston, which was an insane drive. i didn't drive TOO much but it was alot of just sitting in the van, everyone was tired and cranky and all of that junk.
i woke up in the morning to a real live police chase happening in front of us... this car was going the opposite way and came off the exit and went back our way.. almost hit us and then the cops passed and then he went off the shoulder around a tractor trailer. it was a pretty weird thing to wake up to, let alone get a chance to witness.
after a while we decided we were going to go to new orleans because shane wanted to see the city.... after we crossed the makeshift bridge we felt like we were in a war zone. i can't believe how long is been since katrina and the destruction is still so massive. every business along the way was closed, buildings were rubble, brick walls were torn down. i wished i could have taken some pictures but i was driving... it was crazy to see... needless to say we didn't stop. we just kept going and went to the mall of lousiana in baton rouge.
when we got to houston it took forever to find a decent hotel at a good price, it took forever... we drove and drove and were all hungry and tired and cranky. we still had so much to do, like sending passports for our trip to japan, sending other things out, soundscans and all of that business.... on top of finding a nice hotel and eating. everyone was dirty and we just weren't having a good time.
finally we got all our business done and got food (tons) and found a hotel out side of the city.... it was such a relief, except the internet didn't work... which was a bummer.
today i drove the way from houston to san antonio and i had no intentions of going to the venue first. i planned all along to go to the alamo right away. some people weren't as interested as i was, but i was excited. i just like to see the sites(sights) as much as possible... so we went, took some photographs and saw where the soldiers kept their gift shops and vending machines, and got the heck out of there...
so now we're at the show and i hope it'll be a good one, we'll have to see what goes on... ozzy seemed pretty upset when he was kicked out of san antonio so i feel likt it should be something exciting... we'll see.

The last time I was in San Antonio, I was fifteen years old on a school trip :/
It's almost a year ago to date, and I'm royally pissed.
What in the HELL was I doing here in Fort Worth while you were drinking bubble tea and (more than likely) laughing at the pig with no spare ribs in San Antonio? :D
I also had no idea that you had such an interest in photography. Don't be modest or deny it. It's far too late for pretense now ;)
P.S. I think I subconsciously glazed over the part when you mentioned New Orleans. It was hard coming back in the spring. My own dad was like, "What if you really like Philly and St. Joe's and you just end up staying and graduating there instead?" I couldn't even believe what I was hearing at the time. That's when I realized, you really don't get just what that city can mean to you unless you stay awhile...Nevertheless, despite the destruction, it's good that you guys got to see it for what it was. Things are much better now, but we've still got a long way to go. It's part of why I decided to stick around another year. I'm just not the love 'em and leave 'em type, I guess.
