i'm not exactly sure when i last did a journal, so i'm going to recap everything for you guys.
the last week has been the best combined week of shows we've ever done, i think. punchline really hooked us up so well. we definately owe those guys big time for taking us out on tour. penn state, new york, philly, boston, baltimore, and new jersey have all been amazing,.. show wise it's been the best tour ever, however we've definately had our string of bad luck.
first with george getting his laptop stolen, which was crazy, then flat tire on the way to boston at 7 in the morning, and now yet again flat tire on the way to connecticut this morning in which Max hit me in the head with a tire iron, that was the best part. we've also had alot of times being late and just nights without sleep. another thing that sort of sucked was when we went at 430 in the morning after not sleeping on the way back to boston to a new york city police station. we went to file george's police report for his computer and the guy made us wake everyone up and then started accusing us of stealing his laptop.... it was whack.
anywho, despite the bad there's also been good. in philly we came out to a song from back to the future (the part where marty has indians coming at him and he yells 'INDIANSSSS") ah it was funny.. haha. philly was awesome, it was great to see everyone we haven't in a while. another great thing was boston... even though new atlantic couldn't play, which was a bummer, it was still fun. i saw friends i hadn't seen in years, and then all the regulars which is always fun, and met alot of new people, considering we've never really played boston. it was the day of a red sox game so it was pretty nuts up there, lots of fun.
baltimore was also pretty sweet, even though it was boy crazy's cd release, we still had a good crowd come out, and it was alot of fun. i went to the paper moon diner twice, that place rules. first with punchline before the show, and that is always fun, i can't get enough of hanging out with those guys, they're hilarious. and then i went after the show with the new atlantic and CIWWAF dudes, and then of course our brothers in thin dark line... i probably couldn't have asked for a better night on tour, that was definately a good night.
after baltimore was north jersey, at a venue i had never been to before, but i was definately pleasantly surprised, it was real sweet. annd it was actually a 'school of rock' as the name stated... we got there and there were kids playing like welcome to the jungle and van halen and stuff, it was insane. but besides that the show was great, everyone was awesome to us, i definately was impressed with the north jersey crowds, it was so much better than i had expected it, and i dug it... and then after we played, chitty, jd, jake, george and i went on a search for Qdoba... jake thought he knew where he was going so we let him drive, but we went wayyyyy out of the way and this chinese guy with braces gave us directions, but we ended up just getting baja fresh which... is even better in my opinion. i think i had the best burrito i ever had in my life.... tom introduced me to enchillado style..... it was super duper delicioso.... george got all confused and didn't know how to order it so he just got a regular burrito, he was pretty pissed. and jake got all confused and ended up spending almost 14 dollars.... i dunno it was crazy but i was glad we went there.
so after the show we came back to philly to get some easter festivites going. everyone went to their own houses except me, i went up to the rimmer household and had easter dinner with nicole and her family. it was pretty good, we went to some expensive resturaunt and i had pasta, i'm not used to that for easter dinner, usually every holiday is like a huge feast with my family, or even there last year we had a huge dinner, but its all good... i had too much to eat just like usual and it was all good.
all in all, this has been a great week, despite the lows and the lack of sleep, i am pumped for the way things are going and thanks so much to everyone who's coming out to the shows, it's been real fun. oohhh and kelly and kimmy and erica are amazing.... they did a bake sale for george to help him recover from his losses, and that was amazing.... they're some of the best people ever, so thanks alot to them.... but anyway, that was way off track. as i was saying... thanks to everyone, and i hope to see people at the rest of the shows, farmiliar and new faces. and keep up the feedback on the new song, thanks again!
